National Cutting Horse Association World Championship Finals - Over 500 of the top riders and cutting horses vie for the title "World Champion" in a 10-day event at the Amarillo National Center. It's the biggest equestrian event in Amarillo. (817) 244-6188

World Championship Chuck Wagon Roundup - This event is held at the Tri-State fairgrounds featuring cowboy cooks from ranches all over the region who compete to win first prize in the highest paid chuck wagon cook-off in the country. July

Range Riders Rodeo - Talented cowboys celebrate the region's western heritage at the Will Rogers Range Rider Arena located at Loop 335 & Washington. This great 4th of July tradition is fun for the whole family. The events begin at 7:30 nightly. Call for specific dates (806) 355-2212.

Polk Street Block Party - Presented by the Center City of Amarillo will guarantee great food and live entertainment in downtown Amarillo for all in attendance. Call 806.372.6744 for further information and prices.

Annual Boys Ranch Rodeo (Labor Day Weekend) - Cal Farley's Boys Ranch plays host for this annual event. BBQ is served at noon followed by the rodeo events - 2:30 to 4 p.m. daily. For more information and prices, call (806) 372-2341.

Good Times Celebration Barbecue - Held the 2nd Thursday in September on the Chamber of Commerce grounds located at 1000 S Polk. Over 100 cooking teams compete to be the best. For further information and prices please call 806.373.7800.

The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Assoc. World Championship - Held at the Amarillo National Center. A modern version of the legendry Western shoot-outs. The fastest, most accurate competitor wins.

World Championship Ranch Rodeo (WRCA) - Held at the Civic Center. See real cowboys from the U.S. and Canada, who actually earn their day-to-day living on a ranch, compete for the title of World Champion in events like wild cow milking, bronco riding, team penning and more. (806) 374-9722
